Joining journalism in the last semester
of my senior year, I was very worried.
I was joining a full-year class without the
full-year experience. I assumed everyone
would already have picked seats, made
friends, and learned how to write without
me. However, when I walked into class one
the first day, I could not have been more
wrong.
Everyone in the journalism class welcomed
me onto the staff with open arms.
Mrs. Smith and all the editors took time to
sit with me and catch me up, and I quickly
realized that this class was where I was supposed
to be. The few months I have spent
on staff have been so incredibly fun, and I
am thankful for having been welcomed to
the class and given the opportunity to write
for the school newspaper.
