On March 5th, ABC’s original show Once Upon A Time retuned with its midseason premiere that no one could miss.
The midseason finale was in December with its most shocking twists yet. Characters were revealed that nobody saw coming.
The first episode of Once Upon A Time was on October 23, 2011, on ABC. Creators of the show are Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, who also help write for the show Lost.
The show started off in the fairy tale land and started with Snow White and Prince Charming’s story. The Evil Queen wanted to destroy their happiness, so she created a curse to send everyone in the land to a new land where there would be no happy endings. Just before the curse can reach the family, they send their baby girl to a new world so that when the baby grows up, she will one day save the kingdom. The world that everyone was sent to is the real world. The daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, Emma, grew up without a family and as an orphan. In a part of her life, she met a man and fell in love with him. He ended up framing her, and she was put in jail while she was pregnant with a son. She gave her son up for adoption and went on with her life until her 28th birthday when her son returns on her doorstep telling her that she is the savior and he was adopted by the Evil Queen. Emma takes her son back to where he belonged but stayed in the town of Storybrooke anyway. Her son, Henry, knew about the curse because he has a storybook that told all the fairy tale characters stories.
Once Emma breaks the curse, more bad things happen with a whole bunch of fairytale realms and characters. The show will go back and forth between the fairytale world and the real world. They do this so that you can see a character’s past in the fairytale world, and the past always finds a way to make things more complicated.
Once Upon A Time’s midseason premiere was very pleasing. A favorite character came back that nobody thought they would see again and answers were revealed.
The first five seasons of Once Upon A Time are on Netflix, and Hulu updates the new episodes the day after it airs. This show is not meant for people who get annoyed with switching between the past and present and has a hard time with keeping track of all that has happened. Almost every character is connected or related in some type of way. I think it’s worth all the confusion because it’s fun to guess what’s going to happen next.
Catch Once Upon A Time every Sunday at seven on ABC to keep up with the intense storyline.
