Tick Tock. The clock is about to hit 12:00 am. People are waiting for the new year to start. All are very anxious and excited. They all have mixed feelings and can’t wait any longer. A minute until a new year. They get their cups ready and high in the air to start the countdown. Now they begin the countdown for the start of a new year… 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

As soon as a person feels ready to be a better person and accomplish their goals in the upcoming new year. They decide to chase their goals and become a better person.
“When I feel like I’m ready to achieve my goals to become someone that I am willing to be with hard work and dedication,” said junior Veronica Ortiz.

Some people have different opinions about doing New Year’s resolutions. Not everyone necessarily believes they have to do a New Year’s resolution in order to be different, be a better version of themselves.

“I have never done one because I don’t feel like doing it. I don’t see the point of making one,” said freshman Christian Ramirez.

New Year’s resolutions are important to some people because it’s a way for them to have the chance to be a different person in the upcoming new year and change the things they want to. To be able to accomplish their goals.

“It’s important for me because it helps me learn to set and obtain my goals to change, but change in a good way.” said junior Tony Cruz.

Having goals for the new year motivates people to accomplish their goals to become a better version of themselves and set goals for themselves that they haven’t been able to achieve the past year.

“By believing that I can achieve anything I set my mind to and accomplish my goals.” Ortiz said.
